The wood they used is much thicker than any of the others I’ve seen… sooo good to get my paddles out of the damp corner and off the floor. Worth every penny. …Ben

I much prefer wood canoe and kayak paddles and I knew I had to get mine off the floor. After looking at the paddle hangers that were available I gave up finding ones that weren’t just plywood cut outs or a plastic clamp thingy that left marks in my paddles. I wanted holders that weren’t too expensive and matched the quality of my paddles. But then a friend tripped and accidentally knocked over my whole row of paddles like a line of dominoes. I ended up having some dings and dents in the grips and shafts… some of those paddles I’d owned for over 30 years and are not replaceable. Sooo back to the web search, and I discovered these Otter’s paddle hooks that had just hit the web. I like the Basswood, since it’s a slightly softer hardwood and we had Basswood trees at the lake cottage. Thank you thank you! I just heard back from Otter Paddles and they are now making some really beautiful American Basswood, Cherry and Maple wood canoe paddles. Just in time for the spring thaw! …one of the Bristol St Joe River Rats
