With more surface area you will feel more authority in each stroke, be able to turn quicker and may go faster with fewer strokes. Exercise wise, you’ll certainly get a better workout. Many paddlers experience a renewed confidence, and say they are a stronger paddler. Otter paddles will pay for themselves the first time you need to turn or stop your cherished canoe quickly to dodge that gravel bed, rock or tree stump at the last second.
